With Easter just around the corner and a taste of spring in the air, it looks like the worst of the winter weather might be coming to an end here in Keswick (I’m not talking about wet and windy weather, by the way – that can happen all year round here!). However, for once, we’ve actually had a pretty good winter here – not a lot of rain, a couple of good falls of snow on the hills, and plenty of clear, crisp days. In fact, you could say it has been ideal walking weather, and we took the opportunity to get out into the hills in January and February and make the most of a proper winter! Here are a selection of our photos (all of our walks were from our own front door here in Keswick):

Walking up Latrigg from the Keswick-Threlkeld Railway Path.

On top of Latrigg, just in time to watch the sun set over the fells.

View from Walla Crag on a snowy January day.

Walking towards High Seat after summiting Bleaberry Fell.

Starting our ascent to Grisedale Pike from Braithwaite Village.

Stunning view of Skiddaw from the ascent to Grisedale Pike.

A snowy view across the fells on a beautiful February morning.

Unusual ice formations atop Grisedale Pike.

Yours truly on the summit of Grisedale Pike.
We’re so lucky to have all of this on our doorstep! We can’t wait to get out there again in Spring.
